4995 Starr St
How we transformed our Grand Rapids HQ into an innovative, collaborative space that showcases our AVL expertise.
We have called 4995 Starr Street our home since 2013. Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, our building is comprised of both an office space and a 21,600 square ft warehouse, simply referred to as “The Shop”. While this building had been functional, we’ve been growing steadily over the years. A remodel was long overdue.
Overall, the remodel consisted of a total office and kitchen renovation across two floors. Our new space now includes six individual offices, both a conference and design room, two lounge spaces, and one large office space upstairs. This renovation aimed to make LiveSpace more connected, since the previous office area was too small, forcing team members to be split up across the shop. This new sense of connectedness is described by John Henry, our Director of Integration at LiveSpace:
This was going to be a challenge because as a company that specializes in AVL systems, we naturally had high expectations for how we wanted this space to look, sound, and feel. We wanted to incorporate the industry’s best AVL features and for this space to reflect our brand’s personality. In order to achieve this ambitious goal, we turned to some of our most trusted brands including K-Array, Vivitek, and QSC. As the integration team frequently relies on these brands for our clients’ projects, we were already well-versed in the installation process.
When clients and other visitors enter LiveSpace through the main door, the first space they enter into is the lobby. One of the first things visitors likely notice is the 105-inch MaxHub LED display, a product of SHI International. Another unique feature in this room is a customizable Vestaboard sign, automatically updating every 30 minutes so that the room always has a fresh look!
And if visitors still aren't impressed with our new space after passing through the lobby, the conference room will definitely deliver a “wow” factor. Featuring K-Array speakers and an 86-inch Vivitek NovoTouch display, the conference room ensures both in-person and virtual meetings run seamlessly.
The addition of a Q-SYS integrated control system further enhances the space, managing several QSC speakers across the office and warehouse. Our integration team frequently utilizes Q-SYS technology for our clients so we knew this feature would be a great addition to our own workspace.
All in all, this renovation was a key step in supporting LiveSpace’s growth. By incorporating all these top-of-the-line technologies, we’ve succeeded in transforming 4995 Starr into a functional and collaborative space for both our team and visitors.
